Minecraft is undoubtedly one of the most popular sandbox video games in the world today. Selling more than 180 million copies in all platforms and more than 112 million monthly active users, Minecraft has been named the bestselling video game of all time.
Minecraft: Pocket Edition used to be the name of Minecraft’s mobile version where the Bedrock Engine began. It was then ported to non-mobile platforms like Minecraft: Gear VR Edition, Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition, Minecraft: Fire TV Edition and Minecraft: Apple TV Edition.
The Pocket Edition still follows the same gameplay as the Java and Legacy Console Editions where players can explore a 3D world to look for raw materials and tools to build structures or earthworks. Players will also fight “mobs” together with other players or compete against them in the same world.
There is also a survival mode, which allows players to get resources to build and maintain their virtual world. One of the best features of Minecraft is that it allows players to modify the game according to the items and assets they have.
The latest Minecraft: Pocket Edition update v.188.8.131.52 was released on February 11, 2020 and can now be downloaded for free. This new update comes with additional game features like Chinese Mythology while it removes many errors, bugs and threads.
Here are some tips on updating Minecraft: Pocket Edition on your mobile device:
- If you’re updating from the Apple App Store:
Open the App Store and go to Updated from the bottom tabs to see if there are any pending updates for Minecraft: Pocket Edition. If there’s one, tap Update and the process will begin automatically. If you don’t see anything on the list, it means you’re using the latest version of the game.
- If you’re updating from the Google Play Store:
Open the Google Play Store and go to My Apps to search for Minecraft: Pocket Edition. You will see a green Update button beside the app if there’s a new update available. If you don’t see that button, it means that you’re using the latest version of the game.
You can also find a lot of free updates for both Minecraft and Minecraft: Pocket Edition. Just search for “Minecraft: PE free download” or “Minecraft: PE latest version APK.” Be cautious of where you download updates, however, and choose only reliable websites to avoid any problems.
