Anyone
who’s into action role-playing video games has probably tried playing The Elder
Scrolls. Published by Bethesda Softworks, this game has sold more than 58
million copies worldwide and received accolades from different outlets over the
years.
Since
The Elder Scrolls: Arena was released in 1994, gamers have been hooked. And
this time around, everyone is waiting for the series’ newest addition to be
released, The Elder Scrolls 6. But beyond the rumors, what exactly should you
know about this highly anticipated game?
The Elder Scrolls 6 is coming.
After
the success of Elder Scrolls 5: Skyrim, everyone was looking forward to Elder
Scrolls 6, especially when Bethesda dropped that trailer at E3 2018. But since
then, the game developer has been silent about the game and it left fans
wondering whether or not there will be an Elder Scrolls 6.
But
there have been confirmations that the game is happening. There’s just no
timeline yet, especially since Bethesda executives talked about how they’re
focusing all their energy into Starfield, their upcoming space RPG.
However,
the rumor mills started circulating again when job vacancies have started
popping up on Bethesda’s site. For many fans, this could mean that Elder
Scrolls 6 might be in the works.
The release date is still far away.
Although
there has been confirmation of a 6th installment, Bethesda’s Todd
Howard made it clear that it could still be far from being released.
He
explained: “We had done so many things, we were going Elder Scrolls, Fallout,
Elder Scrolls, Fallout… You have this Starfield game in your head, you sort of
say, well, when? It can be never, you could say never. But look, we’re

Elder Scrolls 6 is going to have to wait a little bit. And plus, again, Elder
Scrolls Online is doing so well, it’s so vibrant, that this is the time, both
for us creatively and our audience.”
The fans are willing to wait
The
success of The Elder Scrolls franchise has mostly been because of its unique
gameplay. With millions of fans loyal to the game, they don’t mind waiting for
a few more years for the next sequel to be released.
Bethesda,
after all, has so many great games that fans can choose from to keep themselves
entertained while they wait for the Elder Scrolls 6 to finally be out in the
market.
