Diablo fans are happy with the new Diablo III: Darkening of Tristram’s makeover. The event takes place in a similar manner as last year and it started on the third of January at 12AM GMT. Fans can open a portal which takes them to a 16-level dungeon where they can encounter elements from the first Diablo game.

A melancholic makeover

The dungeons look different than the rest of Diablo III. The retro makeover involves graphics and sound effects which are meant to remember the first game. The movement is locked to eight directions and players can choose to use an existing character or create a new one. Blizzard recommends creating a new character so that players can experience all this new event has to offer.

Those who roam around the dungeon can earn unique portraits, pets, transmogrification designs and Achievements tied to the mode. The ending date of the event is the 30th of January.

Diablo III

This dungeon crawler game was released by Blizzard Entertainment and it is the third one of the franchise. In 2012 the game was available for Windows and iOS and then in 2-13 for PS3. Later in 2014 Diablo III was available for PS4 and Xbox One.

Players have to decide between one of the seven character classes available: Crusader, Barbarian, Demon Hunter, Necromancer, Witch Doctor, Monk or Wizard and defeat Diablo, Lord of Terror.

The action game sold over 3.5 million copies in just the first 24 hours of its release and it was the best selling PC game of 2012. The first expansion of the game was Ultimate Evil Edition and the second one was Rise of the Necromancer. Multiplayer games are possible using Battle.net service, but players need to be connected to the internet constantly.
