Android versions are a bit trickier than other OS updates. When it comes to Apple devices for example, all the phones receive an iOS version as soon as it released. However, that is not how Android versions work.

Android Oreo has been released a few months ago, but the first phones that received it were Google phones. Other devices had to wait more for it, and there are still many users that did not get Android Oreo yet. How long will it take until Android Oreo will reach other devices?

If you own a high-end phone that has been released recently it is likely that you will receive Oreo sooner than other users. There are certain brands that are working hard to bring this version to their phones.

When it comes to HTC, the latest flagship device received Oreo this week, and they are also working on a Sprint variant. HTC 10, U Ultra and U11 Life should also receive some updates.

If you own a Samsung phone, then you probably already know that Android Oreo beta is available for S8 and S8 Plus. Recently, a leaked list of devices revealed the next phones that will get Android updates, but it is unclear how much longer it will take until they will arrive.

OnePlus 5T does not ship with Android 8.0 Oreo, but the update is also supposed to be released next year. OnePlus 3 and 3T should be also be able to get the official update since it has been released for a few days already. Oreo beta was also released for the OnePlus 5 and you should be able to get it right away.
