In Afghanistan, terrorists have attacked foreign tourists, accompanied by Afghan military convoy in , Herat, a western province of the country, reported AFP.

“The convoy was ambushed by the Taliban in Chesht-e-Sharif district in Herat,”said press secretary of the provincial government Jilani Farhad.

At least ten foreign tourists were killed and five were wounded in the ambush, reported world media.

“Two mini buses carrying foreign tourists were attacked by gunmen along a main road in Chishti Sharif District Thursday morning. As a result of the incident, 10 people were killed and five others wounded,” said district governor Farhad Khadimi.

The tourists traveled from the countryside Bamyan. The local police have launched an investigation into the attack.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attack. There are no reports about the nationality of the tourists.

Highways in areas controlled by the Taliban in Afghanistan are extremely dangerous as the Taliban and other armed groups often kidnap and kill travelers.
