WhatsApp instant messaging platform has been acquired by Facebook and since then it has evolved in allowing the user send not only messages, but also make video and voice calls, send voice messages, files, videos, documents and location. It is one of the most popular apps for instant messaging worldwide and it is available for download even for QWERTY phones. This includes mobiles running Java or Nokia’s Asha 200 and Asha 201.

Pre-Downloading advice

Unlike regular smartphones, Nokia Asha devices require a different installation process for WhatsApp. Before starting the downloading process, make sure your Asha 200 or Asha 201 has at least 3 MB of free space on the memory card and an additional 5 MB for browsing. This might require deleting a couple of items or moving them someplace else. Another step to take before downloading is to remove a second SIM, if the device comes with a dual SIM feature.

How to install WhatsApp on Nokia Asha 200 and Asha 201

To begin the WhatsApp downloading process, it is necessary to open a browser on your PC and search for WhatsApp APK for Nokia Asha 200 mobile.

The second step is to download WhatsApp on your computer. There will be a total of two files: WhatsApp_Messenger.jar & WhatsApp_Messenger.jad. Then, transfer the files on the memory card of your Asha 200 and Asha 201. After copying the two files, copy them to the App or Games folder and check there are no other duplicate files before beginning the installation process.

When the downloading process is complete, a message: Open File Now, File Downloaded to my Apps will appear. The user needs to press YES and type your phone number, without the first 0.
