The official release of the Call of Duty: WWII will be on the 3rd of November and until then, only a handful of lucky players are already in the possession of the first-person shooter. It is something normal for the multiplayer version not to be playable until the official release. However, it is unusual for the campaign not to work. Thankfully, an update has enabled the campaign mode of the game.

This update make the campaign mode of Call of Duty: WWII work, but it is quite heavy. It is not the first time there are inconveniences in games and heavy updates need to be downloaded.

Sledgehammer Games, the developer, has released a description of the game. The main character is Private Ronald “Red” Daniels, a U.S First Infantry Division recruit. During D-day he experiences combat for the first time and he manages to survive with his team the dangerous beaches of Normandy. With his team he heads across Europe, battling the enemy in different locations such as Battle of the Bulge or the Hürtgen Forest.

The Call of Duty franchise

The first-person shooter was released for the first time in 2003 and since then it has released several Call of Duty games for a multitude of platform including: iOS, Android, Windows, OS X, Nintendo DS, PS2, PS3, PS4, PS Portable, PS Vita, Wii, Wii U, Xbox, Xbox 360, Xbox One, BlackBerry, GameCube and Nokia N-Game.

The series has brought massive profits for its developers, Infinity Ward, Treyarch and Sledgehammer Games, and in 2016 the franchise has sold over 250 million copies, topping 15 billion US $.

The Call of Duty franchise is so popular that there are action figures designed by Plan-B Toys with the game’s characters, Upper Deck Company created a card game and WildStorm Productions published a comic book.
