It’s been a while since Po and his friends appeared on the big screen. Kung Fu Panda, the box office animated film by DreamWorks Animation has gained more than $631.7 million and won several awards since it was first released in 2008.
But after the success of Kung Fu Panda 3 in 2016, fans have been left wondering when the 4th installment of the movie would come, or if it’s still coming at all.
This year, rumors started to spread again about Kung Fu Panda 4’s release and here’s what we know about the highly anticipated movie so far:
The fourth installment of Kung Fu Panda is still possible.
DreamWorks Animation CEO Jeffrey Katzenberg said that there is a possibility that the Kung Fu Panda franchise may still have three more installments after Kung Fu Panda 3.
The movie’s co-director Jennifer Yuh Nelson also revealed: “It’s one at the time. We require to make this a complete jewel, and then we’ll understand what takes place after it.”
There is no official release date for the movie yet.
Although there have been strong rumors about the release of Kung Fu Panda 4 this year, DreamWorks Animation is still to release a statement about it.
But with the huge success of the franchise, producers may still be working on making the 4th installment as explosive as the first three in the series. Whether or not the movie will come out on the big screen is still yet to be addressed by the movie’s creators.
The same cast will come back for the 4th installment.
Of course, Kung Fu Panda will not be complete without its main characters. So we can expect the same names and voices for Kung Fu Panda 4. Jack Black will still play Po, Dustin Hoffman as Master Shifu, Angelina Jolie as Master Tigress, Jackie Chan as Master Monkey, David Cross as Master Crane, Lucy Liu as Master Viper, Seth Rogen as Master Mantis, James Hong as Mr. Ping and Randall Duk Kim as Grand Master Oogway.

Although there are still no confirmations on the release of Kung Fu Panda 4 this year, we can surely look forward to another blockbuster hit once Po and his friends return to the big screen. But for now, we can just look back at the first three Kung Fu Panda movies and reminisce the adventures of Po and his amazing gang.
