The Facebook messaging service is often the primary choice when it comes to online communication, even for people who doesn’t have a Facebook account.
As of the 4th quarter 2018, there are 2.32 million monthly active users on Facebook, which means even if a user is not on Facebook their friends are likely to be on the social network.
So, if they want to communicate with them online, they need to install Facebook messenger.
There are plenty of reasons to love messenger.
And, although there aren’t any new features this March 2019, the fact that you can now undo sent messages make a world of difference.
This is in addition to existing nifty features such as:
There’s plenty more that you can do on Facebook messenger. It’s available for both Android and iOS systems.
Rolled out last 5 February for Android and iOS devices, the new feature lets you delete a message within 10 minutes of sending it. Just tap on a message and press delete.
This will come handy if you send a message to the wrong window or recipient. When in a group chat, you can choose to delete the message for yourself alone or for everyone else in the group.
Like most messaging service, a note is left behind that tells other users that a message has been removed.
Did you know that there is a free and open-source project messenger for Mac?
It’s not an official Facebook product but is created by Messenger fans but it certainly looks the same.
The latest version 0.1.13 requires Mac OS 10.10 or newer.
Installation will fix the old version’s annoying problem where the window would just go blank with no content.
It also improves startup performance and window zoom.
The latest version now has an “Archived Threads” which is a shortcut to view menu. Another shortcut to view menu is the “Open Messenger Menu”.
Want to try this on for size? Let us know what you think of this open-source version.
