Boxer Nishant Dev is an Indian rising star, he was born on 23rd december 2000, in Karnal Haryana, ever since as a kid he emerged as a promising talent when it comes to the world of boxing. Early Life and Inspiration
His early life starts with his humble background. He wasn’t that financially stable but still kept working hard and showed perseverance which made him who really is right now. He was inspired by his uncle, who is also a professional boxeer, He took up boxing in 2012, and with his uncle’s success his fire to follow his uncle’s step ignited ever since.
Training and Development
Coming to his training, he is trained under the guidance of coach Surender Chauhan at the Karan Stadium. He developed all his skills under his coach which involves, his southpaw stance, quick footwork, and powerful punches setting him apart from other boxers. He would wake up daily at 4AM for training sessions which involved rigorous coaching and hard work.
Notable Achievements
We hope Nishant Dev’s work will pay off this Olympics. Before in 2023 he secured bronze medal in the 71 kg category at the IBA Men’s World Boxing Championships in Tashkent Uzbekistan. His recent performance at the World Boxing Qualifiers in Bangkok helped him a lot to earn a spot in the Paris Olympics 2024, where is defeated Moldova’s Vasile Cebotari for 5-nill in the men’s 71kg quarterfinals.
