KFC Post on Kashmir: KFC has been caught in a controversy when the brand’s Pakistan account posted a Facebook post showing ‘solidarity’ with Kashmir in big bold red letters on 5th January 2021.

KFC PAK tweeted “We stand together this Kashmir Solidarity Day, to realize their right to freedom,”. To make matters worse, an image of snowy mountains was posted with the text: ” Their cravings for freedom are heartfelt”. The tweet was “We deeply apologize for a post that was published on some KFC social media channels outside the country. We honor and respect India, and remain steadfast in our commitment to serving all Indians with pride”, which was posted by KFC India’s official account on Twitter.

And the original KFC Post on Kashmir which created the controversy in the first place was taken down from their social media handles.

Whereas, KFC isn’t the first MNC to bring up the subject of Kashmir. Hyundai and Kia have already faced backlash for their commentary on Kashmir, and they have also issued statements clarifying themselves from their Indian Tweeter and Facebook’s Indian accounts.

After the KFC Post on Kashmir controversy, similarly, everyone was outraged on the Instagram post by the verified account of Pizza hut PAK which stated, “We stand with you. Kashmir Solidarity Day.”

After receiving many outrages, Pizza Hut also issued a statement claiming “it does not condone, support or agree with the contents of a post circulating in social media”.
