The highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto (GTA) 6 has once again become a hot topic on the Internet these days. Well, obviously, after Red Dead Redemption 2 became a hit, the next big thing should be on its way.
After the successful release of GTA 5 nearly 6 years ago, Rockstar is expected to launch the next installment in the franchise. So even if fans are still enjoying GTA Online, they are eager to know if there are any update regarding GTA 6.
Well, there is no reason to fret because here are the latest details about the upcoming installment to the GTA series.
You might have been thinking that GTA 6 will come any time this year, due to some fake pop-up ads spreading all over the Internet. But Rockstar advises that you shouldn’t let your hopes up too much because it may not be released any time soon.
Some reports also revealed that fans could be waiting until 2020 for the next installment to be announced. You may have noticed that Rockstar is still actively supporting GTA Online, which is the multiplayer version of GTA 5.
At the same time, Rockstar is still preoccupied to get Red Dead Online to run smoothly. Currently, the online mode is now in beta release, so you may get an update as far away as 2022.
New Update From GTA Executives
Take-Two Interactive CEO Strauss Zelnick has also confirmed that they are working on some great titles to be up soon. In fact, it was hinted by Zelnick that they are having the strongest development pipeline in their franchise.
He also added that these would include sequels from their biggest franchises, as well as the exciting new IP.
The president of Take-Two Karl Slatoff also confirmed that they are not just investing without getting any releases coming out soon. Slatoff stated that fans should be expecting to see the said investments to come into fruition over the next few years.
New Generation Consoles
In a past update, PS4 and Xbox One consoles weren’t able to handle GTA 6 due to memory restrictions. Therefore, it is expected that the game might be released for the new PS5 and Xbox Two consoles instead.
So Rockstar has been planning all along that GTA 6 will be released just in time when the next top consoles will be out. For now, the only thing for certain is that rumors come and go. In fact, you can read or watch some of the predictions made by fans or some people in the industry.
Fans quickly get hints about an upcoming release when they see trailers all over the Web. But not is not enough support to confirm an upcoming release either. The problem with Rockstar Games is that it is quite secretive in its developments.
You may have noticed what happened before to GTA 5 and Red Dead Redemption 2 wherein they only teased an announcement just days before releasing the first trailer for either games.
