You can actually download the latest 2018 update for Google Play Store, which will give you a plethora of benefits that includes a more stable platform, a better user experience and addressing the bugs previously seen.
While the last few updates have seen major changes, this latest one isn’t as big of a chance and not that big an improvement. Still, you can download the Play Store’s APK file from a reputable website and proceed with caution in installing it. The latest Play Store version is 9.1.24, but will also arrive over-the-air in the near future.
Downloading the latest Play Store Version is easy, but you need to do the following:
- Go to your device’s Settings, Application and choosing Unknown Sources for Android 2.3 or older versions.
- Go to your device’s Settings, Security and Unknown Sources for Android 4.0 or earlier.
Be sure to do the following once more, unchecking the Unknown Sources box after you’ve downloaded and installed the file. By doing this, you keep your phone safe from accidentally downloading malware.
Move the APK file to an external SD card, which you then access with the mobile device. An app can be downloaded from Google Play Store that makes it easy to install APK files
