It would sometimes take a great deal of time when you wait for updates to come to your devices via over-the-air (OTA). In fact, other people would have been left out of the most recent update, particularly the Google Play Store app.

Well, good thing because you can do it manually instead of waiting for the 2018 update. You will be able to get some benefits if you are going to install the updates promptly. Aside from bug fixes, you can experience performance enhancements and stability to go along with it.

Over the last few updates, however, the most recent one might just be a small slice of the pie. You can’t even expect a huge improvement in this category. If you have a trusted website where you can download the APK file, then you have to do so with caution. Version 9.1.24 of the Play Store can also be received when the official update arrives via OTA.

To begin with, you can do this even if you are running version 2.3 or older. Just go to Settings -> Application -> Unknown Sources that you can tick the box to the right corner. For Android 4.0 or newer, you need to go to Settings > Security > Unknown Sources and check the box to the right. Make sure that you uncheck it after successful installation of the APK file so that you will avoid acquiring malware with this process.

Transfer the APK file to an external SD card and access it upon using your mobile device. You can also download an app that would allow you to install APK files easily via the Google Play Store. This makes you install apps on your mobile device from an external source a bit easier than usual.
