The over-the-air or OTA update can take a while to reach your mobile devices. Well, it depends on what unit or model you are using as of the moment. But, if you can’t wait for the 9.1.24 update in March 2018, then you might have to grab the APK version for download right away.
As usual, you should be expecting to get the latest Google Play Store version that would come with a number of bug fixes, general stability, and performance improvements. However, based on the current status of the app, this only seems to be a small upgrade over the last known version.
Therefore, you couldn’t expect that much of an improvement when it comes to new features. You can get the most recent version of the Google Play Store 9.1.24 by visiting your most trusted websites. However, if you are unsure on your source of APK files, then you might just wait for the official version to be available online via over-the-air update.
You can install the app on your Android version 2.3 and older by going to Settings -> Application -> and check the Unknown Sources box on the right. However, if you are using Android version 4.0 and newer, you simply need to go to Settings -> Security -> then check Unknown Sources box. Just don’t forget to uncheck the box beside Unknown Sources after the installation to avoid getting malware on your mobile device.
If you have already downloaded the APK file, you need to transfer it to the external or internal SD card. You can use the file manager in order to access the file and install it.
However, you can install APK files via an application that you can download from the Play Store. This would make it easier to select or manage files on your mobile device.
