If you have been using the WhatsApp messenger then you know that it is one of the best free messengers in the Internet that are free to download and use. WhatsApp is popular because like any Internet based messenger the cost of taking calls and sending out text messages is relatively free as long as you are connected to the Internet.
There are a couple of new features in the latest update of WhatsApp messenger which are the group chat feature and location sharing feature. These new features work well with any social group. Using it as a user you will be able to know where your friends are currently at, meet-ups will be easier, and it will be difficult to lose anyone in a crowd as long as the features will be used.
Live Location Sharing/Tracking
Users of WhatsApp are now able to share their location to all their friend in real time. This feature can also be used to track family or love ones easily even in a heavily crowded area as well as making sure if they arrive on their destination safe and sound.
This is done by doing the following steps:
- Open up the contact you want to share your location with. After which you open up the Location option and tap the Share Live Location option.
- After which you will see a prompt that says: “Participants in this chat will see your location in real-time. This feature shares your location for the duration even if you’re not using the app. You can stop sharing at any time.” This means that the contact you enabled live location with will be able to see your location for 15 minutes, 1 hour, or 8 hours depending on your preference.
Camera Night Mode
One of the downside of taking photos during the night using a smartphone camera is that photos taken after dark do not have the same quality as to those photos that are taken during daylight. With snapchat a new feature has been added on iPhone that allows you take better photos for the night. The feature will soon be rolled out for the WhatsApp Android version.
