OnePlus has been focusing on the release of OnePlus 5T, but the company found time for improving the previous model as well. The company released OxygenOS 5.0 as update for the OnePlus 5 smartphone.

OxygenOS Beta

This operating system is based on Android Oreo and it started in November, after the release of OxygenOS Beta for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T.

The new update includes:

When is the Face Unlock feature arriving?

Android Oreo OS operates the Face unlock feature and many are wondering when this will be added to OnePlus smartphones. According to Carl Pei, OnePlus founder assured that this feature will come to OnePlus devices. Pei used Twitter to reassure fans of the news and to wish them Merry Christmas.

Those interested in updating the beta version have to understand there are still some issues and possible bug. Even so, the OnePlus team would love to receive feedback from those who try OxygenOS 5.

OnePlus 5 (OP5)

This device is the successor of OnePlus 3T released almost two years ago. OP5 is known for delivering clear photos and using dual camera setup. It is compatible with 2G, 3G and 4G networks and it was first released half a year ago in June.

Tetraphobia is popular in China and other Asian countries, and thus the name of OP5 instead of OP4. The smartphone uses an anodized metal back and those interested can choose between Slate Gray and Soft Gold.
