The Moto G5 Plus smartphone was released back in March and it remains one of the most recent Motorola devices. Right now it appears that a new update is available for this device and it brings the latest security patch for the November month.

This new update comes with the version number NPN25.137-92 and it has 159 MB and there are no major changes that can be seen in the UI. However, you should still get the update since it is meant to improve the security of the device and it will help to protect it against viruses and infected files.

Downloading the update

Since the NPN25.137-92 update weighs in at 159 MB it might take a few minutes until it is downloaded. In order to install it you will need an Internet connection which can be either Wi-Fi or mobile network. Nevertheless, a Wi-Fi connection is recommended as long as you make sure that it is stable enough.

Before you download the November security update, make sure that you have at least 50% battery. If you can, plug in the phone during the update. This way you can be sure that you have enough battery and your phone won’t shut down while installing the update.

Since sometimes updates can go wrong it is recommended that you do a back-up before you begin installing the update so that you won’t lose any important files. Right now the update is only available for the Indian units of the device, you not everyone has received it. However, the November security patch should reach every phone very soon.

The update is based on Android 7.0 Nougat and so far we have no information about the Android Oreo update, despite the fact that it should be on its way as well.
