Have you upgraded your Windows 8.1 to Windows 10 and received the error code 0xC004F034 when you want to activate it?

Here is what you need to do to solve this issue, but before getting started, you must know why you got this error and where to look for the solution in your operating system.

This error that you’ve seen is an activation bug from Windows 10. This is what happens when someone tries to update old versions of Windows (7, 8, 8.1) to Windows 10. The user will not receive all the Windows 10 features and cannot sign into Windows account. This might happen if the user entered a wrong license key, but Microsoft has also stated that there might be an issue from their server which could be overloaded if they have recently added updates or other similar products.

The first easy fix would be to check if your Date and Time settings are correct.

If that’s not the case, here are the alternatives to activate Windows 10 without getting the Error Code 0xC004F034.

1. Empty ‘Download’ Folder and Click ‘Activation’ Button for a Lot of Times

Some users have reported that the Error Code 0xC004F034 can be removed if you go to the C:\\Windows\\SoftwareDistribution\\Download and remove its contents. Then click on the Activation button, which you can see under ‘Settings’ -> ‘Update & Security’ -> ‘Activation’. Click it until the error disappears.

2. Activate Windows With Phone Activation

Press ‘Windows’ key + R -> type ‘slui.exe’ -> press ‘Enter’.

Select your country -> ‘Next’ and then just follow the instructions that are prompted there.

If you are upgrading to the Build 10158 or higher, then you must provide an activation key:
