Android 8.0 Oreo is still making its way to various devices, and it will take a while until it will reach all mobile phones. This time it appears that OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T owners will be the ones that will receive the latest Android version.
In fact, these phones will receive OxygenOS 5.0, which is a version of Android Oreo that also some special additions from the company. However, you might have to wait a couple of days in order to receive it, since these updates are not available for all users right away.
This update is a major advantage for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users, since many were considering to upgrade to OnePlus 5. Ironically enough, these recent models, OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T are still stuck with Android Nougat, and it will take a few months until Android Oreo will reach these devices.
However, you should probably know that the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T won’t receive other Android versions, and Oreo will be the last one they get. Nevertheless, Google is already working on Android P, so you might have a reason to buy a new device when that version lands.
