Android 8.0 Oreo is still making its way to various devices, and it will take a while until it will reach all mobile phones. This time it appears that OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T owners will be the ones that will receive the latest Android version.

In fact, these phones will receive OxygenOS 5.0, which is a version of Android Oreo that also some special additions from the company. However, you might have to wait a couple of days in order to receive it, since these updates are not available for all users right away.

This update is a major advantage for OnePlus 3 and OnePlus 3T users, since many were considering to upgrade to OnePlus 5. Ironically enough, these recent models, OnePlus 5 and OnePlus 5T are still stuck with Android Nougat, and it will take a few months until Android Oreo will reach these devices.

However, you should probably know that the OnePlus 3 and the OnePlus 3T won’t receive other Android versions, and Oreo will be the last one they get. Nevertheless, Google is already working on Android P, so you might have a reason to buy a new device when that version lands.

Android 8.0 Oreo features

Android Oreo comes with plenty of functions and improvements. For example, this version includes the picture in picture mode that allows you to watch videos in a miniature window that will be floating on your screen. Additionally, you will receive notifications dots that allow you to see how many unread notifications you have, as well as auto fill.

Oreo also comes with Parallel Apps, a function that will let you clone apps, so that you can use more than one account. This version also comes with some new designs for the app folders and Quick Settings.
