Android O (Oreo) was released last August 21 this year and is the eighth version of the Android Operating system. Unlike the iOS version updates, the newest Android OS versions are immediately rolled out for all Android devices to use.

This new OS update boasts that it is 2x faster in booting time as reported by some testers. It also has an efficient system of maximizing battery power by being able to successfully minimize the background activity for the apps that you do not often use. This new update is all about speed and efficiency.

Android 8.0 Oreo Motorola Update

Now, the Android 8.0 Oreo is joining the Motorola family of smartphones to make consumer experience all the more worth it. Motorola is high on security features and it is one of the reasons they have deployed the latest Oreo update because it brings along Google Play Protect. It helps you avoid breaches on any of your apps and the autofill framework will help in the most intricate of passwords.

Some of the Moto phones that are getting the Android Oreo update include Moto Z, Moto Z Play, Moto G5, and Moto G5S Plus among others. However, a surprising omission is that the Moto G4 and G4 Plus are not getting this latest update. (https://mva.la)

It’s odd especially because it is one of Motorola’s budget phones and many consumers will have taken advantage of the Oreo 8.0 update. It is despite the phone company’s marketing specifically stating that both budget phones “will get upgraded to Android operating system versions N and O”. This is another letdown for Moto smartphone fans out there since it’s not the first time that the company has failed to deliver its promises.

However, based on the official blog, Motorola is still planning to keep their promises as they announced back in August 2017, “but it’s important to us we keep our promises, so in addition to the N upgrade it has already received, we will be upgrading moto g4 Plus to Android O.”

We are all glad of this announcement but we hope it will be sooner than later.
