All GTA V Online players have been aware of the ‘Grand Theft Auto VI’ rumors, be it release dates, storyline, maps or main characters. And this in a world where Rockstar Games have never made an announcement on working on a new game. They haven’t even released ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’, the game where right now they are adding the last touches.
We cannot deny that everyone anticipates GTA VI to appear sooner or later, but it seems that it might come out later than we thought. We all hoped to hear about it at least being in the making, and the sad truth is that we will not hear about it next year.
If GTA VI is Developed, Then It’s Going to Be Delayed By at Least 2 Years
This doesn’t come as a shock, since ‘Red Dead Redemption 2’ has been delayed from being launched this fall to next spring. And don’t think that when Rockstar Games are launching it, they would want to say anything about GTA VI. Other things that might delay the developers to say anything about GTA VI is that they want to introduce AR and VR features into the game, adding a lot more costs into the game production. Looking at how much money was put into GTA V – $265 million for developing the game, think of the costs after they introduce AR and VR.
There is no official mention of a GTA VI in the making from Rockstar, and all that’s been circulating is pure speculation, based on interviews that contain old intentions of developers for future GTA games, fake CVs and so on.
The earliest date of having GTA VI released would be 2020, but even so, until Rockstar Games confirm that they are developing – or will develop GTA VI, all rumors should be taken with a grain of salt.
