WhatsApp is a communication tool that has become so popular around the world. However, you have to keep the app updated in order to take advantage of the many features. Part of this is to avoid certain abuses done by hackers to victimize users all over the world.

For instance, WhatsApp is releasing a new feature to delete messages before they even get to the recipient. This will be applicable for Android, iOS, and Windows Mobile users. This feature can also be used for group messages.

Nevertheless, if you delete a message, it will not be as hidden as you might have thought. This is because your recipient would still see the notification saying that the message was deleted. Thus, it indicates that you have something that you don’t want that person to know, which you accidentally sent anyway.

You might not be able to get this update yet, but it was already announced officially. If you can get this update, you will be able to delete certain messages by tapping and holding messages that you want to erase. You need to tap the trash option from the dropdown menu appearing on top of the screen. You can now delete the message for everyone so that it will disappear from your phone and from your recipient’s mobile device.

Take note that you only have a total of seven minutes delete from the moment you sent the messages. Moreover, you can only apply this update if you and your recipient have updated versions of the app. WhatsApp, however, warned that there will be a chance where the recipient can see the message that was recalled. At the same time, no notification will be sent to your recipient to let them know that there was no deletion that happened. Not even this feature can save you from your drunk texts because there will come a time that it might not work.

Another update coming to WhatsApp is the intuitive in-chat payment feature. This will be the first time WhatsApp would introduce this payment option in the world. In fact, an extended beta program has been featured, which would come around November or December 2017.

The app feature allows users to make payments by just staying on their chat interface, which is just like sharing contacts or locations on instant messenger. India has already scrutinized this feature before it has been released for the public. However, WhatsApp has not confirmed yet on how this feature should work.

Moreover, a taskforce has been created by the European Union in order to check on the sharing of user data by WhatsApp with its parent company Facebook. WhatsApp is now used by over 1 billion people on a daily basis. They have used this number to share phone numbers and other information from the user with social media giant Facebook. This has earned some widespread regulatory scrutiny from around Europe and the U.K. As of the moment, WhatsApp has not resolve such concerns yet.
