According to initial reports from this morning a terrorist carrying a dud grenade and a knife attacked a group of Israeli soldiers patrolling near the holy Cave of the Patriarchs in the old city of Hebron, West Bank.
The attacker charged the soldiers, standing at a military post near the cave, with a knife in hand but the IDF Border Police members opened fire and neutralized him. There is no information about other injured people.
The terrorist was taken to hospital.
The biggest attack on the holy memorial is known as the Cave of the Patriarchs Massacre from 25 February 1994 when American-Israeli Baruch-Goldstein opened fire on a group of Pakistani Muslim who had gathered for a pray. The attack killed 29 people, including young 12-year-old boys and wounded 125. Goldstein was disarmed and beaten to death by the survivors.
