The Metropolitan Counter Terrorism Command has arrested a man upon his arrival at Heathrow Airport on terrorism suspicions.

The 30-year-old man, whose identity was not revealed, landed at Heathrow from a flight coming from Istanbul, Turkey on May 4, Thursday. He was detained by the police forces upon his arrival on suspicion for preparing terrorist acts and terrorist training contrary to section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006.

The an was detained under the Police and Criminal Evidence in a south London police station. Meantime, officers are searching a residential address in east London.

The arrest of the suspect was made on the same day when the court granted police officers seven more days for interrogating the women detained during the raid in Harlesden Road, Willesden, London held a few days earlier.
