At least 13 people were killed and more than 20 injured after a car bomb exploded near a famous ice cream shop in Baghdad early Tuesday morning.

According to the officials the attack was specifically targeting the ice cream shop which was packed mainly with women and children. The assault comes just a few days after the beginning of the holy month of Ramadan during which Muslim fast during the day and break their fast when the sun sets and visit cafes and restaurants.

ISIS took responsibility of the attack. According to Iraqi officials the car was detonated remotely. ISIS has taken responsibility for similar attacks in the past too. The deadliest of the assaults was in 2016 again during Ramadan when a large truck bomb killed hundreds.

CCTV footage shows the busy road at the time of the bombing. A lot of horrific photos and footage of the bomb aftermath in the café also appeared in social media. (https://www.biolighttechnologies.com)
