Over the past week the British Air Force increased their strikes on ISIS with Tornado aircraft that struck seven Islamic State targets in Mosul and Typhoons that bombed a group of extremists east of Raqqah.

Typhoons maintained air operations in Syria and conducted an attack over an ISIS-held building near Al Ulwah. The aircraft also destroyed a stockpile of weapons east of Raqqah. Tornados bombarded two more positions in Mosul and eliminated a sniper and a heavy machine-gun team.

As per the official information from December 2016, the Royal Air Force is operating at its most intense over a single place of operation for the past 25 years. Earlier in 2016 the Ministry of Defence reported that the costs of the operation between August 2014 and the 31st of March 2016, stand at £265 million.
