According to anonymous Egyptian officials a local tribe in the northern Sinai Peninsula has burned alive a suspected Islamic State militant. It is believed that the act was in response of the attack by an Islamic State suicide bomber who killed four members of the Tarabeen tribe on Tuesday, April 25.

The charred body of the man was found in the early hours of Wednesday south the town of Rafah in the Sinai Peninsula and it is believed that he was burned just a few hours after the IS attack on the ribal checkpoint in northern Sinai.

The incident is the latest escalation in the conflict in the area, where Egyptian forces have been battling a growing insurgency with local tribes.
