A bomb exploded in the center of Rostov-on-Don, South Russia, around 7 am local time and injured one person.
The bomb was disguised as a flashlight, which detonated when the man tried to turn it on. The explosion was near one of the schools in the city, which was evacuated and shut. The area has been cordoned off.
The man who found the device is believed to be a janitor at the school, though some agencies report that it was discovered by a homeless man. The person saw a suspicious object on the ground, which exploded in his hands when he picked it up. The bomb blew his fingers off and caused injuries to his abdomen. The man was taken to hospital.
