A 36-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of preparing terrorist acts, police said. Counter-terrorism detectives swooped as he arrived at London’s Heathrow Airport on Thursday, Scotland Yard said.
Detectives from the Metropolitan Police’s Counter Terrorism Command say they arrested the 36-year-old this afternoon, in line with Section 5 of the Terrorism Act 2006, after he arrived at the airport. He is in custody at a west London police station. A Met Police spokesman said they could not speculate as to whether he will be charged with an offense overnight.
In a statement, the Police said:

“He has been taken into custody, under the Police and Criminal Evidence Act (PACE), at a west London police station where he remains at this time.
