Ministry of Emergency Situations of Kyrgyzstan said that on the territory of the embassy of the People’s Republic of China in Bishkek on Tuesday morning, around 10:00 local time, August 30, there was an explosion. The door of the embassy was hit by a car and then was triggered an explosive device.

According to the Ministry of Health, was killed one person and were injured two. Later it was stated that the deceased is the bomber himself, whose identity is not yet known. The injured were three employees of the embassy, who are citizens of Kyrgyzstan. According to the medical services they were hospitalized with multiple injuries from fragments.

China strongly condemned the attack and urged Kyrgyzstan to “quickly investigate and determine the real situation behind the incident.”

No organization has claimed responsibility for the bombing in the country with nearly 6 million mostly Muslim population. Kyrgyzstan borders China, where in the western province Xinjiang Uyghur Muslims have organized attacks against the authorities.

The suicide bomber drove a car “Mitsubishi”, said Deputy Prime Minister of the country Janysh Razakov.

According to local media, the explosive device was in the lounge of the car, struck at the door of the Chinese Embassy in Bishkek. After storming the entrance the car has passed about 50 meters before exploding.
