Passengers were evacuated at the international airport JFK in New York, reported the world news agencies. People were taken out after reports of shots that appear to be unfounded.

Reuters reported that police evacuated Terminal 8 after a signal for shooting The Guardian quoted airport authorities, according to which at 21.30 an alert has been issued for a shooting near the departure area of Terminal 8. A little later, the police closed Terminal 1, after further reports of gunfire there.

Later, from the airport reported that the police had not found any evidence that there were gunshots.

“The terminal was evacuated out of an abundance of caution. Travelers should contact their carriers,” said the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

Police in New York also said that there was no shooting.
JFK UPDATE: All terminals searched & cleared. Negative results. All affected terminals will resume operations shortly. No shots were fired.
