Passengers in one of the airport terminals in the British city of Manchester were evacuated because of a suspicious object, reported British medias.

The reason for the anti-terrorist alert has become an ownerless bag found in the departure area of the second terminal.

During the inspection, passengers were ordered to leave the premises of the airport and to stay away from the glass facade of the building in order not to be harmed in case of an explosion.

A spokesman for the airport confirmed the evacuation, but only of part of the passenger terminal. He did not specify what exactly in the baggage caused the suspicions of the security services.

Unconfirmed reports on social media claimed that the package had “tested positive” for the presence of an explosive device.

Later from the airport said it was a false alarm there was no bomb.
